DEAL is a new Erasmus+ (KA2) Project, which started in November 2018. The aim of the project is to improve the skills of professional caregivers in order to be able to provide appropriate services to patients affected by dementia.

The Project:

The project’s target groups are mainly people who are trainers and teachers in care educations, students at care educations, care staff, and of course people with dementia themselves and their families.

The objectives of the program are to improve the skills of trainers and teachers in care educations and of course the caregivers of people with dementia as well.

Despite the ever-increasing number of people affected by the disease, both in Europe and all over the world, is given low priority in the basic care educations to tackle the disease. For this reason, an important key point of the project, is the participation of decision-makers on dementia issues.

The duration of the project is 2 years and will be completed in October 2020.

Partners are public and private bodies, non-NGOs and educational institutions from Denmark, GreeceItalyNetherlands and Spain.

The 1st transnational meeting of the partners will take place in Aarhus, Denmark, on 17 – 20 December 2018, where the actions to be implemented will be discussed in detail.
