Reminiscence therapy

Based on photographs, music, films, household and other objects related to past events, reminiscence therapy fosters the recall of events in a person’s life. Reminiscence therapy takes typically place either in an individualized form or in groups of two or more individuals with dementia on a weekly basis. Reminiscence therapy exerts only small effects on cognitive functions and moderate effects on depressive symptoms, especially in institutionalized elderly people with dementia.
